OUR TOWN
A Glimpse of Baileys Harbor
Our New Marina

A wonderful asset to our town is our new marina! It
has an easy access to Lake Michigan in a safe harbor. There is a fish cleaning station for all
lucky anglers. Also a office for fishing information about the latest
fishing "hot spots", and any other help they can be for you. Of
course there are a few Charter Fishing boats there also, to help you
get that big one.
The schoolhouse is only 2 blocks from the marina.

Easy access to Lake Michigan _ Great fish cleaning area _ Just a nice place
to visit
Kendall Park

This is a great place to play! Children and adults
enjoy this wonderful place. Special events are held on the grounds
and in our beautiful town hall. The Ridges Nature Sanctuary has Thursday night
slide shows on many interesting nature subjects all summer. A great 4th of
July parade, food and craft fair, plus a large Autumn Festival are a few
of the popular events held every year in Baileys Harbor.

The Ridges Sanctuary

A 1,200 acre private
non-profit nature preserve, with hiking trails, rare plants, and a naturalist to take
you on garden walking tours. Walk the trails on your own, and enjoy the pristine
beauty of nature itself.
Boynton's Chapel
A small Norwegian stavkirke
style chapel, located on the Bjorklunden Estate, owned by Saint Lawrence University.
It was built in early 1940's by Donald and Winifred Boynton of Highland Park,
Illinois. It is open to the public to tour, and there is a new lodge offering seminars all
summer. Many events including weddings are held in their beautiful building.
The grounds are located on Lake Michigan and it is a must to see.
Cana Island
Lighthouse
Walk from the mainland (sometimes through
water, always over rocks) to the island and view the historic lighthouse. It is now open
to the public, and you can enter the home that the lighthouse keepers families lived in.
The grounds are enjoyable, and it is a great family adventure!
